WordsWorth 1.0 - A Perl Interface to WordNet 2.0 - CGI and Client-Server Versions
| WordNet is a semantic network developed at Princeton University.
This Web Interface to WordNet-2.0 has been developed in the course of a B.Tech project by final year students (Kumar Gaurav Arya,Mondweep Chakravorty,N. Ramesh,Nitin Kurian John and Santosh Hariharan) in Electrical Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC) under my guidance.
This interface has been developed in Perl. The search interface runs from Nalanda Digital Library Server at NITC. Enter the word in the search box below to access the interface.
A Client-Server Version of this Software was also written in Perl/Tk.This version is suitable for deployment in a LAN and is faster in returning the search results. It doesnot require WordNet2.0 installation. The required WordNet database files are packed along with the Server Component. The Server Component loads the database files in the Server and carries out the search. The search results in raw form are sent to Client component running in the client machine using TCP/IP.The Client Component formats the data received properly and displays it.This Client-Server version can be downloaded from the link below.Any Windows machine including Win9x can be configured as the WordsWorth 1.0 Server.
